How to Write Music Notes on Facebook

by Aramenta Waithe

Imagine that you are sharing your current favorite song lyrics on Facebook by sending a message to someone or posting on their comment wall. While you could do this simply by typing text, suppose that you would like to spice the message or wall post up a bit by adding an image of some kind. Using a simple keyboard shortcut, you can type music notes on Facebook or anywhere else on the Web, creating the perfect addition for a song lyric or other music-related writing.

Step 1

Log in to Facebook and begin entering text in any field. For example, begin typing a message to someone on your friend list, or click the "Status" link at the top of your main profile page to create a new status update to display on your profile. Place the cursor where you would like the music note to be.

Step 2

Press and hold either of your keyboard's "Alt" keys. If you have a notebook computer with blue numbers on the right half of the keyboard, press and hold the "Fn" key as well.

Step 3

Press "1" and "3" on the numeric keypad or blue numbers on the right side of the keyboard to create a single eighth note, or press "1" and "4" to create two connected eighth notes.

Step 4

Release the "Alt" and "Fn" keys to make the music note appear on your Facebook message or wall post.
