Most laptops, such as the Toshiba Satellite L40, come with the ability to use wireless networking right out of the box. This is because the adapter for wireless networks is built into the laptop, eliminating the need to install one after setting up your laptop. However, you still need to turn on the wireless Internet on the laptop before you can use it.
Step 1
Turn on the Toshiba Satellite laptop. Wait for the laptop to boot into your Windows operating system.
Step 2
Flick the wireless switch on your Satellite to the "ON" position. The switch is located in the front of your laptop. Wait for the light next to the switch to turn green before proceeding.
Step 3
Right-click on the wireless network indicator icon located on the status bar of your Windows system.
Step 4
Click on the wireless network to which you want to connect in the window that appears, then press the "Connect" button.
Tip
- If running off the laptop battery, you can turn off the wireless switch to save power.
