Using a computer to watch TV online gives you the opportunity to watch TV channels that may not be available in your area. If your computer is in the same room as a TV set, watching TV online gives you the option of viewing two different live programs at the same time without having to flip back and forth on your TV. You can watch TV online for free by downloading a specific media player or visiting a website that hosts streaming TV links.
Download TVU Player.
Open TVU Player.
Select one of the TV channel menus (For example "Sports") at the top of the TVU Player. Once you click a menu, channels appear in the left TVU Player column.
Click the TV channel you want to watch online. The channel begins playing after a commercial airs inside the media player's video window.
Visit the Channel Surfing homepage.
Scroll down and view the channels currently listed on Channel Surfing. The available channels will vary based upon the time and date that you visit the website.
Click the link for the TV channel you want to watch online. A window opens. The channel may begin playing in a new window. If it doesn't, go to step 4.
Click "Play" or the "Play" button found inside the second open window. The TV channel starts playing.
Go to the UStream or Justin TV homepage.
Type the name of the TV channel, show or sporting event you want to watch online. Click "Search." The results will appear on a new Web page.
Click the show, channel or event located on the "Results" page that you want to watch. The stream will start playing once it loads.
