Video Chatting Using Yahoo for Android

The Yahoo Messenger application for Android devices allows you to video chat with other people who use the same app. This is useful if you want to hold a video conference with other users on the go and do not want to waste time typing your messages. Before you can use the video chat feature, the plug-in has to be downloaded first. Once installed, you can use the video chat feature to communicate with anyone on your contact list that has Yahoo Messenger installed on their computer, iOS or Android device.

Step 1

Open the Google Play store on your Android device and install the Yahoo! Messenger application (link in Resources).

Step 2

Launch the Messenger app on your Android device after the download is complete. Enter your Yahoo ID and password then tap "Sign In."

Step 3

Tap "Accept" to accept the terms of use and privacy policy. Tap "Continue" to add your Yahoo! contacts to your device's address book.

Step 4

Tap the Menu button and then tap "Options." Scroll down and then tap "Voice and Video."

Step 5

Tap "Install Plug-In" and tap "Install." Tap "Accept & download" and then wait for the download and installation to complete.

Step 6

Tap the "Back" button to return to the Messenger app. Tap on the name of the person on your contact list with whom you want to video chat.

Step 7

Tap the Menu button and then tap "Video." Wait for the person who you are calling to accept your video message request. Once they have accepted you can start your video chat.
