Texting has become a way of life, not just for social contact, but in the business world, as well. People of all ages are texting for reasons that range from checking a grocery list item to touching base with a business client. Many Verizon phones are built with ease of texting in mind, making it as uncomplicated as possible to send a text no matter what the reason or the level of your texting skill.
LG Octane
LG has produced several phones for Verizon, many being texting-friendly, with the newest LG texting phone being the Octane. The Octane looks like a regular mobile phone with a screen and a numerical keypad and the typical command buttons like “Send”, “End” and “OK” on the face. However, it flips open to reveal a regular, or “QWERTY” keypad with letters in the same places you find them on a computer keyboard. QWERTY keypads also have the “send”, “end” and “OK” keys so that anyone, even those not familiar with texting with a numeric pad, can quickly and easily send a text message. In addition, the Octane has a camera, removable memory and a VZ navigator.
Blackberry Curve
BlackBerry is the recognizable leader in mobile broadband phones. As it is Wi-Fi capable you can access the Internet as well as perform the typical mobile phone tasks including texting. With the requisite QWERTY keypad, you can just as easily type in an e-mail as you can a quick text. The BlackBerry curve also has features such as a camera, VZ navigator and Skype Mobile.
Samsung Intensity II
Verizon carries six models of Samsung phones in addition to the Galaxy Tab. The best Samsung phone for texting, though, is the Intensity II. Closely resembling the LG Octane, the face of the Intensity looks like many other mobile phones. But, like the LG Octane, just flip it open and you’ll find a full QWERTY keyboard for texting ease. The Intensity plays VCast music, so if you have a Rhapsody subscription, you’ll have access to your music on the go. Other features include a camera and the VZ navigator.
Palm Pre 2
Since leading the way in hand-held devices with the original Palm Pilot over a decade ago, Palm has been keeping in the game by developing mobile phones. Verizon carries the Palm Pre 2, which is much more than a simple mobile phone. For easy texting it has a QWERTY keyboard and it also includes elements such as a 3G hotspot so that you can share the Palm Pre’s Wi-Fi connection with up to five devices, a camera, VZ navigator and Skype Mobile.
