Since the introduction of the "Motorola Phone Tools" application for the Motorola RAZR in 2001, users have been able to use USB cables to sync files such as photos, music, contacts and documents to and from a computer. Without "Motorola Phone Tools," you have no reason to use a USB cable with your Motorola RAZR. With the installation disc, you can install the application and begin transferring files between the Motorola RAZR and a computer using the USB cable.
Step 1
Download and install the "Motorola Phone Tools" application onto the computer from the program's installation disc. You can find the installation disc in the box your Motorola RAZR came in. If you are missing the installation disc, you can download a full version at the Motorola Store.
Step 2
Connect the Motorola RAZR to your computer using the USB cable. The "Motorola Phone Tools" application should load automatically once it detects the Motorola RAZR device.
Step 3
Select the "Synchronize" option on the application program window to begin moving files from the phone to a designated folder on the computer.
Step 4
Disconnect the USB cable safely by clicking on the "Eject USB" icon in the lower-right corner of the desktop window. Select the USB device from the pop-up menu to safely disconnect.
