In the old days of cable television, when a phone call or chore distracted you from part of a television show, your only hope was to catch a rerun later in the week. That is, unless you taped the program on your VHS recorder. Time Warner cable now offers a feature that allows you to restart a program already in progress with the press of a few buttons on your remote. Time Warner's Start Over feature means you will never miss part of a TV show because of a distraction.

Step 1

Select a Time Warner cable channel with your remote control.

Step 2

Watch in the bottom-left corner for the words "Start Over" or "Enhanced TV." The words only appear for the first few seconds after you select the channel, or after you press the blue "Select" button as you watch a program.

Step 3

Press the "Select" button, located toward the top of your remote control. If the bottom-left of the screen said "Start Over," the show automatically starts over. If it said "Enhanced TV," use the arrow buttons to highlight "Start Over" from the menu, then press "Select" again.

Tip

  • The Start Over feature works only while the original programming is in progress. For example, you cannot use the feature at 7:01 p.m. if the show was scheduled for 6:30 to 7 p.m.
  • Use your DVR service to record the rest of the show if you expect to be away until after the show ends.

Warning

  • Start Over is not available on all Time Warner cable programs.
