Although a folder on your computer's hard drive might have been created or named for a specific purpose, there is nothing that stops you from using an old folder on your Windows Vista machine for a new alternative reason. To keep your computer uncluttered and secure, it is best to rename the folder to something that evidences its new purpose, but other than that there are no caveats about reusing an old folder.
Step 1
Right click on your "Start" menu and select "Explore."
Step 2
Click on the drive letter of your hard drive and navigate to the folder to be reused.
Step 3
Right click on the folder, select the "Rename" option, and assign the folder a new representative name.
Step 4
Drag and drop files into the folder as desired.
