An Amazon claim code, also known as a promotional code or coupon code, lowers the cost of your order by a certain amount. A code may give you 20 percent off your total or add a free gift to your order. Depending on the claim code, you may have to meet a minimum order total, purchase specific items or complete your purchase by a certain date in order for the discount to work.

Step 1

Add all of the items you intend to purchase to your Amazon shopping cart.

Step 2

Click the "Cart" button when you are ready to check out.

Step 3

Click "Proceed to Checkout." Log in if prompted.

Step 4

Enter your claim code in the "Do you have any gift cards or promotional claim codes?" box.

Step 5

Click "Apply." The page will reload, reflecting your free gift or total discount. If your claim code is invalid, a notice will appear.

Step 6

Click "Place Your Order" to complete your order.
