Uploading Pictures Directly to Facebook From Your BlackBerry Bold

If you're looking send pictures to Facebook, you don't need to hook your BlackBerry Bold to your computer, remove the pictures, navigate to Facebook and then upload them; there are a variety of easy ways to do it directly from the phone. The BlackBerry Bold family of phones are all capable of downloading a Facebook app that makes uploading snapspots taken with the phone a breeze. If the app isn't to your liking, there are other ways to send your photos to Facebook as well.

BlackBerry Bold Family

BlackBerry Bold is a family of six phones running BlackBerry's OS6 and OS7. Different models offer a variety of options for potential users, including a trackball in the BlackBerry Bold 9000 and a touchscreen in the 9900/9930. All BlackBerry Bold models can access BlackBerry's App World, where a Facebook application is available for download.

Facebook Apps

The official Facebook application offers BlackBerry users arguably the simplest way to upload photos directly to Facebook. It does not, however, support video upload. Before attempting to upload photos from your photo library to Facebook, select the App World icon, search for Facebook and install the free app. If you don't already have a Facebook account, you can create one within the app.

Uploading

Open the Facebook app and click on the camera icon on its landing page. Your photo library will open, showing all the pictures you've taken with your BlackBerry Bold. Scroll to the picture you want to upload and tap to select it. You can choose to tag friends, add a caption or change the album where the photo is uploaded. It automatically defaults to the Mobile Uploads album. Once you've inputted all your options, just hit "Upload" to send the picture to Facebook.

Other Methods

According to the Facebook Help Center, there are multiple ways to upload photos from a BlackBerry to your Facebook profile. If you don't want to use the Facebook application, access your email app, create a new email and attach the photo you want to upload. Use your unique personalized Facebook upload address as the recipient and hit "Send."

You can also access Facebook's mobile site at m.facebook.com. Click on "Photo" at the top of the page. Tap "Choose Photo" and select the file you want to upload. Type in a caption under the photo, if desired. Tap "Share" in the upper-right hand corner to publish the picture to your newsfeed.

BlackBerry also offers a quick upload from within your picture album. Select the photo you want to upload, open the menu and choose "Send." Choose "Facebook" as the recipient. You can include a caption. The photo will automatically go to your Mobile Uploads album.
