YouTube supports both standard and high-definition videos in various video formats. The site requires a maximum video length of 15 minutes and a maximum file size of two gigabytes. If you want to upload high-definition content, YouTube recommends you upload the original version rather than a re-encoded video and upload the video in its original aspect ratio. When your video plays, YouTube uses a widescreen player for your HD video.
Step 1
Login to your YouTube account and click "Upload" next to the search box on the top of the page.
Step 2
Click "Upload" under "Video File Upload" and navigate to the location of the video you want to upload. Click "Open" to select the video and to begin the upload.
Step 3
Type a title, description, category and tags for your video as the upload process completes. Enter any additional information about your video you want to add and click "Save Changes."
Warning
- It is illegal to upload copyrighted materials, so only upload videos that are your own property.
