Yahoo! Messenger is a free instant messaging application that allows users all over the world to communicate in real time over their computers. You can use the program's chat function, call other PCs and communicate using a webcam and a microphone, or even call cell phones for a fee. However, Yahoo! Messenger is one of many similar applications. If you decided you don't need it on your Mac, you can remove it.
Step 1
Click "Go" at the top of the desktop window and select "Applications" from the drop-down menu to open the Applications folder.
Step 2
Drag the "Yahoo! Messenger" icon from the Applications folder to the "Trash" icon on your desktop.
Step 3
Click "Go" and select "Home." Double-click the "Library" folder and then the "Caches" folder. Drag the "Yahoo! Messenger" folder to the "Trash" icon on your desktop.
Step 4
Click the back button in the Finder's menu and double-click the "Preferences" folder.
Step 5
Drag files that contain "com.yahoo.messenger" in the file name or the "com.yahoo.messenger3" folder to the "Trash" icon on your desktop.
