Service Pack 2 in Windows Vista is a system update that includes updates and support for new hardware and system components. It includes all the updates released since SP1. When you install SP2, some of your hardware and software programs may not function properly. This happens most frequently to video editing programs and other media programs. If you are having issues with the system update, Windows Vista enables you to uninstall SP2 using the built-in uninstaller.
Step 1
Click the Windows "Start" button, select "Control Panel and choose "Programs."
Step 2
Click the "View installed updates" link under "Programs and Features" to launch the "Uninstall an update" page.
Step 3
Scroll down the page, click "Service Pack for Microsoft Windows (KB948465)," and select "Uninstall." Follow the guided prompts to complete the uninstall. When prompted, restart your computer.
Warning
- SP2 is an important Windows Vista update, so uninstalling it leaves your computer vulnerable to potential attacks from hackers and attackers.
