Google Chrome provides extensions through the Chrome Web Store. You can install a variety of toolbars that aim to make your browsing experience efficient and enjoyable by providing shortcuts, additional functionality and tools such as Web publishers and bookmarks. You can easily remove toolbars and extensions by using the Extension manager within Google Chrome.

Step 1

Click the "Menu" icon on the Google Chrome Web browser. The icon consists of three stacked horizontal bars.

Step 2

Select "Tools" followed by "Extensions" from the drop-down menu.

Step 3

Click the "Trash" icon next to the toolbar or extension you want to remove. Click the "Remove" button to confirm.

Tip

  • If a toolbar won't uninstall, run a complete virus scan to ensure that you didn't accidentally install malicious software. Some malware installs itself as a browser toolbar and requires you to remove it with an anti-virus program.

Warning

  • Make sure that any extensions you install come from reliable companies and developers to keep your computer safe. Once you delete a toolbar, any data associated with the toolbar also gets deleted.
