SafeSearch can be a useful tool when executing Google searches, preventing you from accidentally loading explicit material while at school or work. The feature can also block desired search results, however, so you may not find your targeted website. Google enables you to edit your search preferences to disable SafeSearch, letting you view all possible results.

Step 1

Navigate to google.com, type in a search term and click "Google Search."

Step 2

Click the gear-shaped icon above the search results and click "Search settings."

Step 3

Remove the check next to "Filter explicit results."

Step 4

Click "Save."

Tip

  • If you are signed into your Google account, your settings will save so SafeSearch will always be disabled when logged in.
