Playlists are a useful way to sort and group music based on an artist, genre, or even emotion -- you can create a playlist of music to work out to or a playlist to listen to when you are feeling down. iPods allow users to create playlists in iTunes and on the iPod itself, but transferring the playlist to another computer to share with friends can be difficult, as Apple does not allow users to move music from an iPod to a computer. Fortunately, you can transfer playlists using blank discs rather than third-party programs.

Step 1

Plug the iPod USB cable into the computer you originally set the iPod up on. Plug the USB cable into the iPod.

Step 2

Open iTunes. The iPod's name should be seen in the left sidebar.

Step 3

Click on the playlist you want to transfer.

Step 4

Insert a blank disc into the computer. Return to iTunes and open the playlist.

Step 5

Click "Burn Disc" on the playlist's page. iTunes will copy the playlist to the disc. Eject the disc when finished.

Step 6

Insert the disc into another computer and open iTunes.

Step 7

Select "Import Disc" to copy the tracks on the playlist from the disc to the computer's iTunes.
