The digital age has brought with it many innovations that allow technology to be produced faster, better and cheaper than ever before. The cell phone, once a large and troubled device, is now commonplace and used by all ages. With new features such as GPS locating and Internet use on the cell phone, parents are able to get a peace of mind by keeping track of their children's Verizon cell phones online.
Initial Online Setup
Visit the Verizon Family Locator website and click "sign in" in the "get started" box on the left side of the page.
Register your account online if you have not yet, then sign in. Click "next" and continue through the sign up process. Click to agree to the terms and conditions and to the monthly charge.
Specify which phone or phones you want to enable location services for, then designate which phone will be used to locate them.
Visit the Family Locator landing page via the second link in the Resources section. Log in using your mobile phone number and the password created in Step 2, then click "Locations" and the number of the device you want to locate.
Standard Verizon Phone Setup
Go to the media center on your "locator" phone, then press 5 to "browse & download" applications. Press 1 to "get new application."
Scroll down to "family locator member" and press OK. Press OK again to enable use of your current subscription and the application will begin to download.
Press OK to open the application. Log in using your phone number and the password you created online.
Press the "right" key to move to the "locations" tab at the top of the screen. Select the phone number you want to locate and press OK to track the cell phone.
Verizon Android Phone Setup
Enter the Android Marketplace, then select the Verizon tab at the top of the screen.
Select "Family Locator" and confirm installation.
Log in using your mobile phone number and the password you created online.
Select "Locations," then select the phone number you want to locate to begin tracking.
