An MP3 player is a portable device for listening to music wherever you go. MP3 players are so popular with consumers that they are manufactured by dozens of companies and come equipped with many different features and options. Storage capacities vary from one MP3 player to another and so does the price. Some offer the ability to play videos and games. Apple iPod Touch
The Apple iPod Touch is available in several configurations that offer storage capacities of 8 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. The smallest of these -- the 8 GB iPod Touch -- can store about 10,000 photos, 2,000 songs or 10 hours of video. These devices feature a high-resolution Retina display and include a video editor. In addition to MP3, WAV and AIFF files are supported formats on the iPod Touch.
Apple iPod Classic
The iPod Classic features 160 GB of storage capacity. This portable device can store about 25,000 photos, 40,000 songs or 200 hours of video. It has a sleek design and comes in quintessential silver or striking black. The iPod Classic features a 2.5-inch display suitable for playing iTunes videos, which you can rent or purchase.
SanDisk Sansa Clip+
The SanDisk Sansa Clip+ is quite small, measuring just 2.2 x 1.4 x 0.6 inches and weighing less than 1 ounce. This player comes equipped with 2, 4 or 8 GB of storage. It includes a clip that you can use to secure the player to your clothing and a memory slot for inserting a preloaded content card. Color choices are red, blue and black.
Microsoft Zune HD
The Microsoft Zune provides an interface for viewing HD-compatible video, playing games and browsing the Web. This portable device is available in 16, 32 and 64 GB capacities. The Zune HD weighs 2.6 ounces and features a 3.3-inch, 480 x 272 resolution display. Media such as movies and TV shows acquired through Microsoft's streaming technology can be shared on the Zune, your PC or an Xbox 360.
