If you aren't sure what version of maps is installed on your Garmin Nuvi GPS, you can view this and other information about your device in the "myMaps" section of the Settings screen. Use this information to determine if you have the latest version of road maps installed, or to see what other types of maps, such as elevation and 3D buildings, you have on your device.

Step 1

Turn on your Garmin Nuvi GPS and tap the "Settings" button in the main menu.

Step 2

Tap the "Map & Vehicle" option on the Settings page.

Step 3

Scroll down and tap "myMaps." The current map version number, along with any additional maps, such as elevation and 3D, are displayed here. Tap a map to disable or enable it, if needed, and then press the "Back" button to save your settings changes.

Tip

  • The myMaps section of your Garmin Nuvi may be slightly different, depending on your particular device model. In some Nuvi devices it is right inside the Settings section. If you can't find it on your device, consult its documentation to learn its location.
  • Three maps are installed on most Garmin Nuvi devices: DEM, or Digital Elevation Model, which adds shading to different landscapes; 3D, which adds three-dimensional buildings to your map; and ALL, which is your standard roads map.
  • Visit the Garmin Map Updates Web page (link in Resources) and select your device to view available map updates. If there's a more recent version available, follow the onscreen prompts to update your maps to the latest version.
