How to Stop Netzero Home Page Loading

Netzero provides both high-speed and dial-up Internet services. Once you install Netzero, your homepage is automatically set to the Netzero home page. Each time you connect or press the "Home" button on your browser, you'll be sent to this page. If you prefer another homepage, you can stop the Netzero homepage from loading. Internet users of any skill level can easily stop the page from loading and replace it with their favorite website.

Step 1

Open your Internet browser window. Allow the Netzero homepage to load. Press "Add to Favorites" or "Bookmark" on your browser's toolbar. Alternately, locate the link on the Netzero page that states "Bookmark this page" or "Add this page to Favorites." This will add the page to your bookmarks or favorites in order to have easy access later.

Step 2

Go to "Tools" and select "Internet Options." Go to "Options," select "Web Preferences" and choose "Internet Options."

Step 3

Highlight the current address in the "Home Page" box. Press "Delete" on your keyboard. This removes Netzero as your homepage.

Step 4

Type the URL of your desired home page into the box. If you mistype the URL, close the "Internet Options" dialog box by pressing "Cancel." Browse to your desired homepage. Highlight the URL in the address bar and press "Ctrl" plus "C." Re-open the "Internet Options" window, place your cursor in the homepage box and press "Ctrl" plus "V."

Step 5

Press "OK" to save your changes. Press the home button on your browser's toolbar to ensure your homepage opens correctly.

Tip

  • You can access the Netzero homepage later by adding it to your favorites or bookmarks.

Warning

  • If you reinstall the Netzero software, your homepage will be reset to the Netzero home page.
