Bluetooth technology enables you to wirelessly connect accessories, such as headsets and keyboards, to your cell phone. Install a Bluetooth headset to your Cingular phone if you want to safely use your phone while driving or while performing attention-consuming tasks. After the Bluetooth connection is set up, you can talk on your phone hands-free.

Step 1

Open the Bluetooth headset and hold down the multi-function button to put the headset in pairing mode.

Step 2

Turn on your Cingular phone and press the "Menu" key. Use the navigation buttons to highlight the "Settings" entry and press "OK." Highlight "Connectivity" in the menu that opens and press "OK."

Step 3

Highlight the "Bluetooth" entry in the "Connectivity" menu and press "OK." Scroll to the "Bluetooth On" option and press "OK" to open the Bluetooth page. Highlight the "New" option and press "OK" to scan for Bluetooth devices.

Step 4

Highlight the name of the Bluetooth headset in the list of located devices and press "OK" to pair your headset with your Cingular phone.

Step 5

Enter the password for the headset if your device has one. (Check with your headset's owner's manual if you are unsure of the password.) Press "OK" to complete the connection.
