The iPod Nano is a slender, more petite version of the larger iPod Classic, but still allows users ample playback options of videos and music. Transferring songs from a PC to the Nano requires you to download iTunes. After the installation completes, iTunes runs its initial setup, which allows you to transfer your desired music folders from your PC to iTunes. Once the music is loaded on iTunes, the iPod Nano can sync any song.

Step 1

Download the iTunes installation software from Apple.com (See Resources).

Step 2

Run the installation software after it finishes downloading to your PC.

Step 3

Select your desired installation options in the installation wizard, then install iTunes. When it finishes installing, a setup assistant opens and will ask you what type of files you would like to transfer to iTunes.

Step 4

Select the music file types, such as ACC, MP3 or WMA, that you would like to transfer to iTunes during the setup process. iTunes will take a moment to import those files to your new iTunes library. Follow the rest of the prompts until the setup completes.

Step 5

Hook your iPod Nano to your PC via USB.

Step 6

Click your iPod Nano's name under "Devices" in the left-hand pane.

Step 7

Sync your iPod by clicking the "Music" tab, selecting "Sync music" and "Apply."
