How to Do a Soft Reset on a Samsung Omnia

by Kefa Olang

On the Samsung Omnia, some applications may crash or become non-responsive in certain situations. If this happens, performing a soft reset will safely reboot your phone without deleting your saved data, such as contacts and documents. The more you use your phone, the more likely it will lock up at some point, so knowing how to perform a soft reset will help you to restore the Samsung Omnia to functionality.

Step 1

Close all open programs, then press the "Home" button to return to the Today screen.

Step 2

Insert a stylus pen, paperclip or toothpick into the Reset slot, which is located next to the Power button on top of the Samsung Omnia.

Step 3

Push and hold the Reset button for a few seconds, then release the button. The Today screen closes and the Samsung Omnia restarts automatically.
