How to Shut Down a Compaq EVO N610C

by Kirk Bennet

The Compaq Evo N610C is a notebook powered by a potent 2.4 GHZ central processing unit. The Windows XP operating system is installed on all Evo N610C notebooks by default and HP recommends you keep this operating system on your device. To preserve its battery, you are advised to turn off the notebook when you don't use it. Closing its LCD screen doesn't turn off the N610C, but you can easily shut it down manually. And if the laptop doesn't shut down by itself, you can force it to shut down.

Step 1

Click Start and click the "Turn Off Computer" button in the Start menu.

Step 2

Click the "Turn Off" button to shut down the computer. If the computer doesn't turn off due to an error, you need to perform a forced shutdown.

Step 3

Slide the Power switch to the left and hold it there until the notebook shuts down to perform a forced shutdown.
