While the only "official" way to synchronize an iPod with your PC is to use Apple's iTunes media player, there are several alternative ways to sync your iPod if you're not OK with using iTunes or if iTunes is hogging your memory. Windows Media Player, for instance, allows for Sync Partnerships. This allows you to sync an iPod with WMP; useful if you already have a library and playlists on WMP.
Step 1
Click the "Start Menu," then click "Programs."
Step 2
Click the Windows Media Player icon to open Windows Media Player.
Step 3
Connect your iPod to your computer with the iPod USB cable.
Step 4
Click the iPod icon that appears on the left.
Step 5
Click "Sync this device automatically." Click and drag any playlists you want onto the iPod icon to sync them.
Warning
- Make sure iTunes is not active during your sync.
