You can set up a Wi-Fi connection with Cricket Broadband using a Cricket Crosswave Wi-Fi dual mode DO/Wi-Fi device to create an instant mobile hotspot and provides Internet access for you while you are on the go. The Cricket Crosswave operates in all Cricket broadband coverage areas and is programmed so that you can connect several of your Wi-Fi devices to the Internet with a touch of a button.
Step 1
Insert the Cricket Crosswave hotspot USB cable into the USB port on your computer. Your computer will detect the new device will begin installing the driver program located on the Cricket Crosswave Wi-Fi Internet device. Select the language for your installation and click "Next" when prompted by a dialog box on your screen.
Step 2
Agree to the Cricket Broadband Connect License Agreement and click "Next." The "Cricket Broadband Connect Setup Type" window will appear on your screen.
Step 3
Select "Express Install." Click "Next." The driver programs will install onto your computer. When it is done you will see "The Install Shield Wizard has successfully installed Cricket Broadband Connect." Click "Finish."
Step 4
Click on the wireless icon bar located at the bottom right of your screen to open the "Wireless Window." Click "Open Network and Sharing Center" to open the control panel "Network Management Utility."
Step 5
Click "Manage Wireless Networks" to open the "Manage Wireless Networks" window. Click the "Add" tab located at the top of the screen. The "Manually Connect to a wireless network" dialog box will appear. Click "Manually create a network profile." A new dialog box will open asking you to enter your wireless network information. Enter your Network name, security type, encryption type and security-pass phrase.
Step 6
Click the box next to "Start this connection automatically" and click "Next" to get your computer to change its settings. You should now be able to use your Cricket Wi-Fi on your computer.
