How to Set Up the iPhone Voicemail

by KR Knowlin

The Apple iPhone visual voicemail, or VVM, feature acts as a mailbox to store your voicemail messages. IPhone VVM allows you to view a list of your messages and select which voicemail you want to listen to. Unlike traditional voicemail service, with VVM you choose which messages you want to listen to, delete or call back without listening to earlier messages.

Step 1

Open the "Phone" icon on your toolbar.

Step 2

Tap the "Voicemail" icon, then select the "Setup Now" option.

Step 3

Enter a four- to 15-digit password for your voicemail when prompted.

Step 4

Tap "Save." Reenter the password in the confirmation prompt, then tap "Save" again.

Step 5

Select "Custom" when the prompt appears if you want to use a custom greeting instead of the default greeting.

Step 6

Tap the "Record" button to begin recording your customized greeting.

Step 7

Tap the "Stop" button when you are finished recording. If you want to preview the greeting, tap the "Play" button.

Step 8

Tap the "Save" button to save your changes and complete the set up.
