MP3 players are wonderful electronic devices that allow you to take your favorite music with you wherever you go, without the burden of carrying around a large CD player and a case full of discs. There are multitudes of MP3 players to choose from, and you can pack anywhere from hundreds to thousands of songs on them. Sometimes, however, you just want to hear a particular song but you don't want to wait for it to come up on the playlist. Selecting a particular song on a portable MP3 player is simple, and no matter what make or model player you have, they all follow the same general directions.
Step 1
Power on your MP3 player.
Step 2
Click on your "Menu" button, or select the key that takes you to your menu screen.
Step 3
Select your "Music List" or "Playlist." When you select your music list you will usually have an option to "Play All" or "Play Song." When you select "Play Song" it will give you the option of selecting the song you are looking for. Some songs are listed by artist, and some players list songs alphabetically.
Step 4
Select the song you wish to listen to, and press "Play." When that song finishes, you can go through the process once again to select a different song from the music list, or you can let the MP3 player continue down the music list.
Tip
- To save time searching for songs, make special playlists for your MP3 player. For example, you could title one "Ride to work" for the songs you enjoy while in the car, or "Workout" for songs you enjoy listening to on your jog. You can make playlists in your media player.
Warning
- Selecting individual songs repeatedly will not only take moments away from your listening time, but it will wear down your battery faster than if you just let the song list play through.
