How to Select All Emails on an iPhone for Deletion

by Charlie Brooks

Capable of accessing websites, streaming video and the wide range of applications Apple sells in its App Store, the iPhone transcends the traditional definition of cell phone. Of course, it can also efficiently process simpler tasks, such as retrieving email. If you want to select all your emails to be deleted, for example, do so with only a few taps on the screen as opposed to having to open each message and delete it individually.

Step 1

Tap the "Mail" icon along the iPhone's bottom task bar. In order to select your emails for deletion -- and delete them later -- you must open "Mail."

Step 2

Tap the name of the mailbox that contains the emails you wish to delete if you have more than one mailbox on your iPhone. Tap "Inbox" to access your email Inbox, which is home to all your messages.

Step 3

Tap the "Edit" button, then tap the small circle located to the left of each email message. You have now selected all your iPhone's emails for deleting. Tap the red "Delete" button at the bottom of the screen to delete your messages.
