How to Save Custom Ringtones in the Samsung Link

by Meg North

You can upload customized ringtone files from your computer to your Samsung Link smart phone and set them as a default ringer or for a specific contact. Cell phone providers prefer that you use their platform to download ringtones that are specifically for the Samsung Link. However, a free ringtone uploader program transfers the ringtone file from your computer to the Samsung Link and also provides the option to save it on the cell phone. The music file should be in the MP3 format.

Step 1

Save your customized ringtone as a file on your computer desktop for easy retrieval.

Step 2

Open your web browser. Go to the Rumkin Phone Uploader tool website (see Resources). This program allows you to upload and save ringtones.

Step 3

Add a description for your ringtone in the "Description" box and click "Browse" to select the ringtone file on your desktop.

Step 4

Type your cell phone telephone number and click "Upload file." After the file is uploaded to the Samsung Link, a file link is sent to the phone via SMS text message.

Step 5

Press the central "Menu" button. Use the navigation buttons to select "Messaging" and "Text Message" to read the text message.

Step 6

Select "Go" to download the ringtone to the Samsung Link. The file is downloaded to the "My Downloads" folder and saved there.
