When you create a contact, your BlackBerry stores the information in its internal memory. However, your phone also has a SIM card that allows you to store personal information about your phone such as contacts, your telephone number and provider information. If you save your contacts to your SIM card, you can remove your SIM card and insert it into another phone to transfer your contacts.

Step 1

Select "Contacts" on your BlackBerry's "Home" screen to view your address book. Press your phone's "Menu" key and select "SIM Phone Book."

Step 2

Select "New" from the list of options and enter the information for the contact you wish to add.

Step 3

Press "Menu" and select "Save" to add your contact to your SIM.
