The primary partition on the Windows XP operating system is typically the C drive--the drive that contains all of the operating system's core files and information. You can restore the information on this partition by using the System Restore feature in the Windows XP operating system, enabling you to reverse time back to a point prior to when the partition became corrupted.

Step 1

Click "Start," select "Programs," open "Accessories" and open "System Tools."

Step 2

Select "System Restore."

Step 3

Click "Restore my computer" and select the date to which you wish the primary partition to be restored.

Step 4

Press "Next" to begin the automated restoration process.
