How to Reset My Coby Kyros 7012 Tablet

by Contributing Writer Google

Resetting your Coby Kyros MID7012 tablet can fix many of the problems you might run into with the device. You can resolve minor issues such as a frozen screen by pressing the reset button on the back of the tablet. More serious problems -- including forgotten passwords -- require you to reset the tablet back to its factory settings. The second option should be a last resort -- you'll lose all your files and tablet settings, so back up your files before you go this route.

Step 1

Press the “Power” button on the top edge of the tablet until the Device Option menu appears, and then select “Power Off.” Select “OK” to shut down the tablet.

Step 2

Hold down the “Back” button, and then press the “Power” button at the same time. Hold both buttons until the Android icon appears on the screen.

Step 3

Press the “Back” button one time to activate the recovery screen.

Step 4

Use the volume control buttons on the top edge of the tablet to scroll to the “Wipe Data/Factory Reset” option, and then press the “Back” button.

Step 5

Scroll to the “"Yes - Delete All User Data" option, and then press the “Back” button to reset the tablet.

Step 6

Scroll to the “Reboot System Now” option, and then press the “Back” button to restart the tablet.
