It's a good idea to password protect the BIOS of your Sony computer. As the BIOS controls the way your machine operates, you don't want just any person to come along and change important system settings. If you'd like to reset the password you currently have set on the BIOS to its original factory default, you'll have to enter the BIOS yourself and manually make the changes that you need.

Step 1

Restart your Sony computer.

Step 2

Press "F2." This will take you into your Sony computer's BIOS.

Step 3

Enter your current BIOS password. This will unlock all of the features of your Sony BIOS.

Step 4

Highlight and select the "Set User Password" field and hit "Enter."

Step 5

Enter your current password into the box on-screen. Highlight the "Reset Password" option and hit "Enter." This will reset the BIOS on your Sony computer. Once you have done this, select "Save Changes and Exit" to save your reset Sony BIOS password and exit the BIOS. Your computer will restart and load your operating system.
