Viewpoint, an online media company, has several programs which may end up installed on your computer unexpectedly. The Viewpoint Manager, Viewpoint Media Player or Viewpoint Toolbar are three components which may show up in your Processes or Add/Remove Program lists. These programs are not malicious and will not collect personal data or harm your PC, but many computer users do not want them installed on their PC. The following steps will help you remove the Viewpoint software from your computer.
Step 1
Log on to your PC with an account which has administrative rights. Make sure you have no applications open.
Step 2
Right-click on the Windows clock (on the Taskbar in the lower right corner of the screen) and select "Task Manager" from the menu.
Step 3
Click on the "Processes" tab. Look through the list of running processes for an item titled "VIEWMGR.EXE". If you see this item, click once on it to highlight it and select "End Task." Close the Task Manager by clicking on the "X" in the upper right corner.
Step 4
Click on the Start Menu and select "Control Panel." Double-click on the "Add or Remove Programs" icon. Look through the list of installed software for any items titled "Viewpoint Manager," "Viewpoint Toolbar" or "Viewpoint Media Player." If any of these are found, click once to select it and click the "Change/Remove" button to uninstall the software. Repeat this step until you have removed all of the Viewpoint items.
Step 5
Reboot your PC.
