The Orz.exe file is a malicious program that is downloaded to your computer when your system is infected by the Downloader.Swif.C Trojan. The file opens itself whenever you start your computer, and attempts to use security loopholes in your operating system to download over virus files. You can remove the Downloader.Swif.C Trojan from your computer completely--and the other virus files that it downloads--by running a virus scanning tool.

Step 1

Navigate to the AVG Anti-Virus web page in "Additional Resources," below. Download and install the AVG Anti-Virus tool if your computer does not already have another virus removal program.

Step 2

Close your web browser, and then click on "Start." Click "Shut Down," and then choose "Restart." Wait for the computer manufacturer's logo to pop up on the screen, and then press the "F8" key repeatedly until a new menu appears.

Step 3

Press on the down arrow key and navigate to the menu option labeled "Safe Mode." Press "Enter" to restart your computer with the Safe Mode feature enabled.

Step 4

Open up the AVG Anti-Virus program or whichever virus scanning tool you already had installed on your computer. Locate the program's "Update Now" button, and then click on it.

Step 5

Click on "Download" to initiate the program's virus detection updating procedure. Wait for the update process to finish running, and then click on the "Computer Scan" icon.

Step 6

Select the scan option labeled "Scan Entire Computer," and then click on "Start." Click on the "Remove Selected Problems" icon when the anti-virus utility finishes scanning your hard drive.

Step 7

Close down the anti-virus utility. Restart your computer to finish the virus removal process.

Tip

  • Loading your computer's operating system in Safe Mode prevents the Trojan from opening itself and downloading more files that can infect your system while your virus scan is running.
  • Always update your anti-virus program and then run an entire system scan at least once each week to prevent any further virus programs from infecting your computer.
  • Depending on the brand of your computer you may need to press a different keyboard key to bring up the Safe Mode menu when you restart your machine. Check your manual or access your computer manufacturer's website for further assistance.

Warning

  • The Trojan that downloads the Orz.exe file is typically spread through files that appear benign but are actually infected. Make sure to scan any file you download with your anti-virus program before opening the file to prevent any future infections.
