MetaCrawler is a search engine that combines other search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, Bing and many others. When you search for information on MetaCrawler, it takes the most popular search results from the other search engines, compiles it into one list and presents it to you. Like most other search engines, it saves your search history. If you want to hide your search information, you must manually delete it with the Internet browser's tools.
Open the Internet browser that you use MetaCrawler on. The process for deleting the history is almost identical for all browsers, so you can use these steps no matter what you use.
Open the Tools menu in the Internet browser. This is at the top of the window for most browsers. If you use Google Chrome, click on the wrench icon to the right of the address bar.
Click on "Clear Browsing History." Depending on your browser, it could also say "Clear Private Data," or "Clear Recent History" or Clear Browsing Data." A new window may pop up that gives you the choice of what files to delete.
Choose the types of files you would like to delete and click "Submit," "Clear Now" or a similar button. Generally, you should delete all files except for saved passwords weekly.
