How to Remove HP Easy Printer Care From a Computer

by TS Jordan

While many printers can stand on their own, using only a device driver and no external software, companies such as HP often add additional programs as a "value-added" service to help users perform common printing tasks. HP Easy Printer Care is a program that streamlines printing options to help people who are less than computer savvy manage their machines. For people who do not require the assistance of HP Easy Printer Care, removing it from a computer system takes just a few minutes.

Step 1

Click the Windows "Start" button and select the Control Panel. Select "Uninstall a Program" from the Programs section.

Step 2

Scroll through the list of currently installed programs and select the HP Easy Printer Care program. Click "Uninstall." This initiates the automated removal process, which can take anywhere from 10 seconds to more than a minute, depending on the size of your version of the program.

Step 3

Reboot your machine to complete the removal process. Rebooting your machine is necessary because the computer will then load up the modified registry, which is a database of installed programs and variables, that no longer contains the information for HP Easy Printer Care.

Step 4

Defragment your hard drive. Click the Windows "Start" menu, type "defrag" in the Search field and select "OK." Defragging your hard drive should be done after adding or removing a program to place files in the appropriate location on the drive for the fastest possible access times.
