How to Remove Antispyware Pro XP

Antispyware Pro XP is a spyware that infects computers through Trojan viruses and other malware. Once the spyware installs itself it begins generating pop-ups that warn you of different spyware found on your computer. It offers the Antispyware Pro XP application to remove the spyware and protect your computer in the future. This spyware tries to scare inexperienced users into buying a fake application that does not remove any threats from computers and is a spyware in itself. You need to remove this Web parasite immediately by deleting its registry entries, files and folders.

Kill System Process

Step 1

Press "Ctrl-Shift-Esc" to launch the Windows Task Manager.

Step 2

Click the "Processes" tab to view the list of programs currently running. Select "antispywareproxp.exe."

Step 3

Click "End Process" and close the Task Manager.

Delete Registry Entries

Step 1

Click the Windows "Start" button, type "regedit" in the Search field and press "Enter" to launch the Registry Editor.

Step 2

Find and delete the following registry entries:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\software\\Microsoft\\windows\\currentversion\\run ieupdate

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\software\\secure solutions\\AntispywareProXP lgid

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\software\\secure solutions\\AntispywareProXP lid

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\software\\secure solutions\\AntispywareProXP pid

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\software\\secure solutions\\AntispywareProXP\\2.1 installtime

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\software\\secure solutions\\AntispywareProXP\\2.1 start counter

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\software\\secure solutions\\AntispywareProXP\\2.1\\config

Step 3

Close the Registry Editor.

Remove Files and Folders

Step 1

Go the Windows "Start" button, type "as2008xp.exe" in the Search field, right-click the file when it appears in the search results and select "Delete" from the context menu.

Step 2

Repeat the search-and-delete process for the following files:

antispywareproxp.exe

setup_100527_3_.exe

AntispywareProXP\\as2008xp.exe

setup_100527_3_.exe

antispyware-2008.exe

ntdll64.dll

setup.exe

antispyware-2008.lnk

Step 3

Restart your computer.
