Your Magellan GPS gives you accurate directions to points of interest and other destinations across North America. Magellan recommends that you register your device soon after you purchase it. Registration includes several benefits, such as a 12-month product warranty, access to map upgrade promotions and a 10 percent discount on all accessory purchases. To register your GPS, you need to install the Magellan Content Manager. The Content Manager also enables you to receive the latest software updates or make changes to your Magellan account settings.
Step 1
Open your Internet browser and go to the Magellan Content Manager download page (link in Resources).
Step 2
Click the "Download Now" button, and then click "Save File." Save the file to your computer's desktop. Double-click the file to install Magellan Content Manager on the computer.
Step 3
Launch the Content Manager and log in to your Magellan account. If you don't have an account, the Content Manager will prompt you to create one.
Step 4
Connect your Magellan GPS to the computer via USB cable. Press the "Power" button on the GPS to turn it on.
Step 5
Click "OK" when the computer prompts you to create a new GPS profile. Wait a moment as the Content Manager creates a profile and registers the GPS.
Tip
- To update your GPS, connect it to the computer and launch Content Manager. If new updates are available, the program downloads them from the Magellan website and installs them on the GPS.
