To redeem your Kindle gift card, you must first access your Amazon account online and enter the card's information. When you purchase a book or Kindle accessory, Amazon automatically deducts the purchase cost from your gift card account balance. To purchase digital content from your Kindle device with your gift card balance, first activate the "1-Click Settings" through your Amazon account.
Log in to your Amazon account on your computer. Click "Your Account." In the "Payment" section, click "Apply a Gift Card to Your Account."
Type the gift card's 14-digit or 16-digit claim code into the text bar. The code is on the back of the card. Scratch off the protective coating, if necessary.
Click "Apply to Your Account." Amazon will immediately adjust your gift card balance to reflect the credit to your account. Use your Kindle gift card balance toward Kindle books, devices, accessories and other Amazon purchases except newspapers, magazines and blog subscriptions.
Click "Your Account." In the "Settings" section, click "1-Click Settings."
Click the "Turn 1-Click On" button and then click the "Continue shopping" button. If you do not see the option to turn 1-Click on, click the "Enter a new address" button and enter your information. Click the "Turn 1-Click On" button and then click the "Continue shopping" button.
Turn on your Kindle. Press "Menu" and "Shop in Kindle Store." Browse to the book you want to purchase. Press the "Buy" button from the title page. If you have opened the sample pages, simply press "Menu" and "Buy This Book." Amazon will automatically deduct the cost of the book from your gift card balance.
