In addition to playing any audio or video content that you have on your computer, Apple's iPod brand of MP3 players (except the iPod Shuffle) can also display pictures. As with all content transferred to an iPod, you must select the folder containing the pictures you'd like to transfer using Apple's iTunes software. Then, you need only to sync your iPod to your computer in the same fashion you do to transfer songs and video clips.

Step 1

Open iTunes.

Step 2

Connect your iPod to your computer. Packaged in the box that your iPod came in will have been a white USB cable. Locate this cable and connect it to both your computer's case (via a USB port) and your iPod (via the input on the bottom of the device).

Step 3

Click on your iPod's name in the main iTunes window (once it appears after connecting the iPod to your computer).

Step 4

Click on the "Photos" tab on the monitor.

Step 5

Check the box next to "Sync Photos From." This will tell iTunes that you want to sync pictures to your iPod. Use the drop-down menu next to the phrase "Sync Photos From" to select a folder on your computer where the pictures are stored.

Step 6

Click "Sync." iTunes will convert all of the pictures in the folder you've selected to a format that can be understood by the iPod, and then they will all be transferred to your iPod's internal hard drive.
