With your MySpace account, you have the ability to send email to other members on your friend's list. Aside from including your note, this social networking community also gives you the tools needed to add music to the message. This way, when your friend clicks the music link in the email, she is taken to a page with a music player that allows her to hear the song. Using a music file and a free online resource, you can add music to your own messages in MySpace.

Step 1

Upload your music file, such as MP3 or WAV, to a free file hosting server like FileFactory or MediaFire (see Resources). Follow the host's prompts for uploading your music, and record the Web address (URL) of your file's location. If you are unsure of how to do this, access the "Help" or "Support" page for specific details.

Step 2

Log in to your MySpace account and click the "Compose" link under the "Mail" drop-down menu to begin a new message.

Step 3

Click the "Add a Link" hyperlink at the bottom of the message body. Enter the Web address from Step 1 in the "URL" text field and type in the title that identifies this link--such as the name of the song--in the "Text" field. Click the "Done" button when finished.

Step 4

Enter the recipient's name in the "To" field and any note in the message body. Click the "Send" button when done.
