ITunes allows you to add media to your iPod from files in your iTunes library. If you have a CD that you want to add to your iPod, you can use iTunes to import the CD and add its songs to your iPod on the next sync. However, this requires that your CD does not have a copy protection that blocks iTunes from importing it.
Step 1
Open iTunes and insert your CD into your computer's CD drive. Click the CD icon under "Devices" on the left pane and click "Import CD" on the bottom of the right pane. Click "Yes" to confirm that you want to import your CD into iTunes.
Step 2
Connect your iPod's sync cable to the bottom of your iPod and to one of your computer's USB ports. Click "iPod" under "Devices" on the left pane. If you configured iTunes to manually manage your music, click "Music" and select the artist or album title for the CD you imported. Click "Apply" at the bottom to save your settings.
Step 3
Click "Sync" to add the album to your iPod.
Tip
- If you configured iTunes to automatically sync your music, you can simply sync your iPod after importing the CD into iTunes.
