The iPod Nano Chromatic is a smaller version of the popular Apple iPod. Although the device is smaller and the storage space is less, you can still listen to audio and play video on the device. However, in order to put movies onto the Apple iPod Nano Chromatic, the video files must be in the MPEG-4 (MP4) video format. This is the only video format all Apple iPod and iPhone products accept.
Step 1
Download and install a free trial of an MP4 converter program (see Resources).
Step 2
Launch the video converter program, and click the "Add Files." Choose the movies you want to add to the iPod Nano, and click "OK."
Step 3
Select an ouput location, and choose "MP4" as the format you want to convert to. Click "Convert," and the movie files are converted to MP4
Step 4
Launch iTunes, and click the "Movies" tab on the left side of the screen. Click and drag the new MP4 video files into the open window.
Step 5
Plug the USB cable into the bottom port on the Apple iPod Nano. Insert the opposite end of the USB cable into the computer, and your Nano Chromatic automatically syncs with iTunes.
Step 6
Click the "Movies" option under your iPod Nano screen, and check off the new movies you want to add. Select "Sync" in the lower right corner of the program window, and the movies are added to your iPod Nano Chromatic.
