Your Samsung Acclaim smartphone features a memory card slot that supports microSD or microSDHC cards with a capacity of up to 32GB. The Acclaim comes with a 4GB microSDHC card, but installing a larger memory card gives you more room to store your apps, music, photos and videos. Load new media files onto the Acclaim by connecting the memory card to your computer's card reader.

Connect the Acclaim to Your Computer

Step 1

Connect the included USB cable to the USB port on the side of the Acclaim. Connect the other end of the cable to your computer. "USB connected" appears on the Acclaim's display.

Step 2

Slide the Notification icon to open the Notifications list.

Step 3

Tap "USB connected" and "Mount." Windows recognizes the Acclaim as a removable disk.

Step 4

Click "Start" and "Computer," then double-click "Samsung Acclaim."

Step 5

Right-click anywhere in the window, then point to "New" and click "Folder." Create folders named "./DCIM/Music" and "./DCIM/Camera" on the Acclaim's memory card if these folders don't already exist.

Step 6

Copy MP3 or WMA music files to the "./DCIM/Music" folder; copy 3GP or MP4 video files to the "./DCIM/Camera" folder.

Connect the Memory Card to Your Computer

Step 1

Tap "Settings," "SD Card" and "Unmount SD card" on the Acclaim. Open the memory card slot on the side of the phone.

Step 2

Press down on the memory card until it releases from the slot, then remove it from the phone.

Step 3

Insert the memory card into your computer's card reader. The computer recognizes it automatically.

Step 4

Create directories named "./DCIM/Camera" and "./DCIM/Music" on the memory card, if necessary.

Step 5

Copy your video files to the Camera folder and music files to the Music folder.

Step 6

Remove the memory card from the computer and reinsert it into the Acclaim.

Tip

  • When you buy an item from the Android Market on the Acclaim, you have the option to download it directly to the memory card.
