Filling up your iPod with music from your iTunes library helps you keep your iPod music options fresh. The songs are moved from your iTunes music library to your iPod through a process known as "synching." This is a straightforward procedure that is done in minutes once your iPod is connected to your computer.
Step 1
Double-click the "iTunes" icon on your desktop to open the program. Connect your iPod to the computer using the provided Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable.
Step 2
Click on 'Ipod" under the "Devices" column located on the left-hand side of the iTunes window.
Step 3
Click "Music" at the top of the iTunes browser window.
Step 4
Check the box that says "Sync Music," and click whether you want to put your entire iTunes music library on the iPod, or just a selection such as certain playlists, artists, or albums. If you choose to just put a certain selection of music onto the iPod, click next to all of the songs you want to add.
Step 5
Click "Apply" and wait for iTunes to sync with your iPod.
Step 6
Eject the iPod from iTunes. Click the "Eject" icon located next to "iPod" under the "Devices" column. Unplug the iPod from your computer. The songs are now available on the iPod.
