Many fun and informative podcasts -- many of them free -- are available for the iPod. You can subscribe to these podcasts and have them automatically sync with your iPod. However, while you're using the iPod you have no way of reorganizing or putting the podcasts in order. This can only be achieved through a computer with iTunes. Regardless of whether you sync automatically, you will be able to put the podcasts in order so they stay that way. You'll still be able to search by album and artist on your iPod for further organization.
Step 1
Attach your iPod's USB cable to the underside of the device and a USB port on your computer.
Step 2
Open iTunes and click on your iPod in the devices menu, then "Podcasts" under that.
Step 3
Look at the different organization choices right above the podcasts. Right-click to see more options and choose any way you'd like to order the podcasts. This can include file size, artist, track name, date added, date listened to, and many more. If you click "Date added" twice, it will order the podcasts from most recent to oldest. Experiment with different options to find the one that makes most sense for your use.
Step 4
Click the eject button next to your iPod in iTunes and wait a moment for the device to eject. Navigate to the podcasts on your device and double-check that the order is the one you chose. The podcasts will now remain in this order until you choose to change them again.
