Your Samsung Captivate smartphone lets you take photos and videos with its 5-megapixel camera, then you can view, edit and email them right on your phone. If you want to add photos to your phone that you didn't take with your Captivate, you can transfer them from your PC. All you need to do is use your phone as an external storage device for your computer, similar to a flash drive.
Step 1
Press the "Home" button on your Captivate to reach the Home screen.
Step 2
Tap the "Applications" option; then choose "Settings." Select "Applications," then "USB settings" and "Mass storage."
Step 3
Press the "Home" button again.
Step 4
Plug your phone into a free USB port on your computer using the Captivate's USB cord.
Step 5
Click the "Start" button on your PC; then click "Computer."
Step 6
Double-click your phone, which is displayed as a drive connected to your computer.
Step 7
Double-click the "DCIM" folder; then double-click the "Camera" folder.
Step 8
Drag and drop photos into the folder.
Step 9
Remove the USB cord from your phone and computer. Your new photos will display in the Gallery.
Tip
- Although the default location for your photos is DCIM\Camera, you can change this in the Camera app if you prefer. You find this option by tapping the "Settings" option when you start the camera and then tapping the "Wrench" icon. You can change the default save location here by tapping the "Storage" option.
