Securing your animals in fences is needlessly costly in Microsoft's "Zoo Tycoon."

Overview
"Zoo Tycoon 2," a PC game released by Fang Games, is simulation that allows players to create their own zoo and manage all the facets of the facility including the care of the animals and zoo structures. Although there are no cheat codes for this game, players can implement certain strategies to improve cash flow.
Free Water
Instead of buying water bowls for your animals in your zoo, use natural water instead. Not only is it free, but it also makes the zoo look nicer. To do so, go to the "biome" section and create water for your animals. They now have an unlimited supply, and you no longer need to pay for it.
Sell Your Trees
If you are really stuck for money, click the "bulldoze" option and get rid of all of your trees. This move nets you about $1,000, but it will only work once because you won't have any trees left after you sell all of them.
Natural Fences
To keep the animals that you have purchased in the zoo, you have to contain them. Building fences, the usual method for keeping animals penned, eats a pretty big hole in your budget, but you can use alternate methods. Use the land tool and dig a hole for the animal to be placed into with a zookeeper. Alternatively, make the land surrounding the animal high enough that it can't walk over it. Either way, the animal will be confined, and you will have saved the expense of a fence.
